Jakarta, 10 August 2016. Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (Bekraf) holds craft exhibition in New York Now (NY NOW) on 20-24 August in Javits Center, New York City (NYC). Bekraf exhibits 10 products from choosen Indonesian craft companies.
“Aiming promote Indonesian best craft products, Bekraf participate in NY NOW. We have chosen 10 products from 30’s products as the representative of Indonesian crafts in the event. We do hope that the chosen products not only can be seen, but also can be bought by potential buyers and retailers around the world,” said Bekraf Marketing Deputy Joshua Mulia Simanjuntak.
Bekraf joins NY NOW to promote Indonesian craft products and get the taste of international style. Five craft companies are supported by Bekraf to attend and update trend around the globe. Five more companies products are exhibited in the event.
Nook, Versaguna, Tala, Lungsin, and Arya Pandjalu are five companies chosen by Bekraf to participate in the event. Indonesia would exhibit contemporary design of lamp from Nook, modern bathroom accessories from Versaguna, stylish bags and accessories from Lungsin, and artistic sculptures and installation from Arya Pandjalu.
Indonesian craft has excellency, including handmade touch, material source, and culture treasure in the product making process. The exhibited craft product from Indonesia not only have modern and contemporary design, but also have uptodate packaging.
Bekraf get opportunity to promote Indonesian craft producst in NY NOW because it will be attended by around 24,000 retailers, more than 400 media, and 85% of buyers from around the world. International brand, arsitech, and designer also will join the event.
“By joining NY NOW, Bekraf can participate in increasing export since the event will be attended by various sellers and buyers. In addition, it is possible that we are going to have international cooperation with representative brand companies in the event. Moreover, it can inspire our creative craft companies to make new design and innovation which have better quality and get the chance to compete in international level,” explained Bekraf Director of International Marketing Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjiato.
The chosen craft companies will visit retailers and design center to increase their knowledge in the recent style of home decor and world furniture during their stay in NYC.
Bekraf cooperates with Indonesian consulate in New York to hold Indonesian Night. This event aims to facilitate Indonesian Craft Company meet up with retailers, buyers, and companies of crafts. International networking is the goal of it. (mm)
